Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of children in our community.
Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
