Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of kids in our group.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary school trainer and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, ensuring secure and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
